Smores Brownies

Try as I may, I have such a sweet tooth.  My son was home for the holidays, and I wanted Smores Brownies so badly.  He made them for me.  Oooohhhh! Yes they are so good.  I hope you enjoy them too.  He simply made some additions to my gluten free brownie recipe.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees:

For the crust:

Grease a 9 X 13 inch pan.   Crush 2 cups of gluten free graham cracker crumbs, add 3/4 cup melted butter, stir until well combined and press into the bottom of the pan to form a crust.

Brownies:

1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter, melted

3 cups sugar

1 TBSP Vanilla extract

5 eggs

2/3 cups brown rice flour

2/3 cups tapioca starch

2/3 cup potato starch

2 tsp potato flour (DO NOT SUBSTITUTE POTATO STARCH! It must be potato flour)

1/2 tsp xanthan gum

1 cup Hershey’s Cocoa

1 tsp baking powder (can substitue corn free baking powder if needed)

1 tsp salt.

Heat oven to 350 degrees (325 for glass pan) Stir together butter, sugar, and vanilla in a very large bowl.  Add eggs and beat unitl blended.  Stir in flours, cocoa, baking powder, salt and xanthan gum (all dry ingredients)  Spread batter over graham cracker crust.  Bake 50-55 minutes.

Topping:

Remove from oven when done and top with full bag of miniature marshmallows, and  2 cups chocolate chips immediatley. Turn oven to broil and place under the broiler for a short time just until the marshmallows begin to melt.

We used corn free marshmallows and they don’t seem to melt as easily as Jet-Puff.  Still very tasty though.

We hope you enjoy!

Good Morning Magnolia

I made a card this summer for a special friend.  Hope you enjoy looking

I used Good Morning Magnolia by Stampin’ UP!  and Prismacolor Pencils.  I did need to do some masking to get the words to say exactly what I wanted them to say on the inside of the card.

Hello Spring!

Once again, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted.  Spring is upon us, and I am celebrating an incredibly kind and beautiful friend.  There are times we meet people and we just know the bonds of friendship are strong. I wanted to celebrate our friendship, and the coming of Spring, as she has had an incredibly rough winter.  I hope you enjoy looking.

I used Unity Stamp Co’s March 2019 KOM Gather Love.  I made a step card, and used prismacolor pencils, white, blush, pink, rose, light aqua, aqua marine.  For the leaves I used lemon yellow all over, chartrueuse, olive green around the edges, blend with chartreuse, grass green, more olive to tone down the grass green, some Indigo blue for shadows and a touch of yellow orange.  I decided to write her name on the tag just like a real bouquet.  In that back pocket is a gift card for a cup of coffee as we all need time to put our feet up, sip on a cup of coffee, look out the window and take a deep breath.
