Good Morning Magnolia

I made a card this summer for a special friend.  Hope you enjoy looking

I used Good Morning Magnolia by Stampin’ UP!  and Prismacolor Pencils.  I did need to do some masking to get the words to say exactly what I wanted them to say on the inside of the card.

Hello Spring!

Once again, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted.  Spring is upon us, and I am celebrating an incredibly kind and beautiful friend.  There are times we meet people and we just know the bonds of friendship are strong. I wanted to celebrate our friendship, and the coming of Spring, as she has had an incredibly rough winter.  I hope you enjoy looking.

I used Unity Stamp Co’s March 2019 KOM Gather Love.  I made a step card, and used prismacolor pencils, white, blush, pink, rose, light aqua, aqua marine.  For the leaves I used lemon yellow all over, chartrueuse, olive green around the edges, blend with chartreuse, grass green, more olive to tone down the grass green, some Indigo blue for shadows and a touch of yellow orange.  I decided to write her name on the tag just like a real bouquet.  In that back pocket is a gift card for a cup of coffee as we all need time to put our feet up, sip on a cup of coffee, look out the window and take a deep breath.

Sunflower Birthday

Goodness, it’s been awhile since I posted.  However, my husband’s birthday was earlier this week and I decided to make a card and a tag.  I made this back in September and this time of year always reminds me of sunflowers.

I heat embossed the large sunflower I purchased long ago from Stampendous with versamark and espresso embossing powder.  I actually miss using stamps I’ve not used in a very long time. I then masked off the sunflower and spritzed with Glimmer Mists by Tattered Angels.  Remember Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist? Well I still have a bunch so I’ve not tried the newer mists.  I used Yellow Daisy, Meadow Green, Tiger Lilly, Wheatfields, and Coffee Shop. I then used my Tombow Brush Pens, Jelly Beans Collections markers and a waterbrush.  I also used yellow stickles.  All cardstock is from Stampin’ Up! Garden Green, and Very Vanilla.  I made this card 6 X 6.  I’m actually getting tired of all of the small A2 sized cards.  I want something bigger.  I lined my envelope with some beautiful scrapbook paper that I still had here from a Creative Memories stash. They do have nice scrapbooking paper, and so does Stampin’ UP!  The tag, I did the same but lightened up a bit and I did heat emboss and mask off the sunflower, however since this was not on watercolor paper, (I used a tag I have from Unity Stamp Co.), I did use prismacolor pencils on the sunflower.  I am absolutely certain I would  not heat emboss an image again while using pencils.  Not that it made a difference but it was a little bumpy going over the heat embossing with the nice soft pencil.  I used pretty chocolate sequins from an assortment pack I purchased from My Favorite Things some months ago.  I glued those down with Glossy Accents. That is a wonderful glue.  I purchased a big piece of burlap.  I’m always and forever running out of twine, why run out?  I just pull a strip or several strips from the burlap, it works great.   Oops, almost forgot the butterfly is from Unity Stamp Co. Beautiful Birthday Wishes.

I hope you enjoy looking, and thank you!

Cure Girls

Hello Everyone,

I made some cards, one for my friend who is a breast cancer survivor and recently finished her treatments.  Now she is healing.  4 of the cards are now in a cardpack as a thank you gift to someone who is incredibly kind and compassionate and always doing kindnesses for me as well as for others.  I used 2 of these (yes, I made quite a few) are thank you cards for my Congressman and Governor for all they did to support my recent advocacy for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis.

I used Unity Stamps: Cure Girls Stamp Kit, and the hope stamp is from Unity’s February 2016 Kit of the Month.  My husband figured out looking at the “hope” card upside down, that it also spells joy.  So I have another use for this stamp.  Always a plus!

I used Stampin UP! Card stock, the thick cardstock as the base and their pretty designer series papers in Night of Navy.  The pink card I used Blushing Bride.  I used Momento Ink and Coconut Swirl card stock by Bazzil for the girls as I was using Copic Markers.  The copic markers I used are all sketch markers, B97, B02, R81, R85, YG13, YG17, Y11, Y08, V12, V17, E00, E02, E11, E97, E37, E29, E99, and E21.

Blue: Myalgic Encephalomyelitis                                                                                                         Purple: Fibromyalgia                                                                                                                            Pink: Breast Cancer                                                                                                                                Yellow: Gulf War Syndrome                                                                                                                 Green: Lyme Disease

I hope you enjoy looking
